Happy employees are active and more productive. Employees who are dissatisfied with their work affects negatively the company they work for. The common perception across organizations and businesses in Kenya is that the Customer is always right.
This perception has led most employers today to put greater emphasis on customer satisfaction than they do their employees; a situation that continues to drive an unhappy workforce.
But is this right? Is having little regard for the value employees bring to a company beneficial in any way? Employees who are satisfied and happy will not leave the company, therefore, the process of acquiring new ones is minimized. If your employees are unhappy, you will realize the following signs:
1. Time obsession
Unhappy employees would show up late in the morning and tend to leave early. Everyone is always excited about free time or break time. However, employees who are unhappy at work always keep checking their clocks to get done as soon as possible.
2. They do not propose new ideas
Employees who are satisfied with their workplaces are all the time thinking of new ideas to make their company more successful and point out the challenges the company is facing.
If you’re an employer and you notice no new ideas or challenges are posed by your employees then know they are dissatisfied. U
3. Threatening to quit
A happy employee would ensure they witness the prosperity of the company. An unhappy employee will all the time threaten of leaving the job citing different reasons that could have been made known to the manager and no action was taken.
It would be best if an employer paid attention to the above list, it might help him or her, to make amends before things turn for the worst.
