2017 Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Miguna Miguna has come to the aid of televangelist Paul Makenzi.
Paul Makenzi was arrested on Saturday in Malindi after making remarks of the controversial Huduma Namba.
Makenzi allegedly incited the public against Huduma Namba listing.
Officials accuse Mr Makenzi of urging the public not to get Huduma Namba in a programme aired on Times TV. He allegedly termed it satanic saying once people get it, they will have sold their souls to the devil.
In his television summon dubbed ‘End Times’,
Detectives and officials from the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) raided his Good News International Church in Malindi and seized cameras, computers
KFCB coast regional manager Bonventure Kioko said officials have court orders to detain Mr Makenzi at the Malindi Police Station for 21 days to allow police and film experts complete investigation.
Dr. Miguna Miguna negate the act by the police of arresting Makenzi over ‘unconstitutional’ process.
He added that “there is no crime Paul Makenzi has committed.”
Urging Kenyans not to register for the conscriptive and constitutionally unlawful HudumaNamba is not a crime known to law
President Uhuru Kenyatta in a past event had said,” ile ujinga uko Kenya ni mwingi sana, sasa Huduma Namba na shetani inaingilia wapi.”
