A great blow has been suffered by the Orange Democratic Movement who have lost elections in both Embakasi South and Ugenya by-elections.

The elections came out as a war between Au envoy Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto according to many Kenyans.

The speakers in those campaigns portrayed Ochieng and Mawathe as William Ruto’s candidates. One them, James Orengo, publicly declared that a vote to Ochieng is a vote to Ruto.

After the election win Raila has conceded defeat on twitter while Ruto has congratulated Ochieng and Mawathe.

Ruto said, “Congratulations Ochieng (Ugenya) & Mawathe (Embakasi) for your God given victory. Jameni wacheni MUNGU aitwe MUNGU (Let God be called God). The hustler nation has spoken, the people have decided. GLORY TO THE ALMIGHTY GOD.”

Many have claimed the Orange Democratic Party lost the two by-elections because of forcing unwanted candidates on residents in the name of backing Raila Odinga(baba).

Last week, a Kenyan on twitter has reminded that James Orengo took the same shenanigans to Sihayi trading Center, East Ugenya Ward, Siaya County to try force on voters his friend Karani. Well they had to scamper for safety!
