Murang’a Women representative Sabina Chege has tells off president Uhuru Kenyatta to stop issuing empty threats on corruption.
Sabina said this ahead president Uhuru state of the nation address.
She said that Kenyans are really tired of talks without action and its high time for Uhuru to save the reputation.
The Murang’a Woman Rep who was speaking on Citizen TV on Tuesday morning claimed Kenyans had gotten tired of hearing the president talk about the same thing and issue warnings every time but nothing changes.
“One of the things I would expect the president to do when he addresses the nation, and not just talk about corruption…We want to see some people going home. I think we have been doing the talk and no action. Kenyans are tired,” she said.
The outspoken politician proposed that an audit should be done on all the stalled government projects and those responsible for the collapse of the projects be prosecuted.
She further suggested that those implicated in graft and who always insist they are innocent should be taken to court so they can prove their innocence.
“The issue of having a person termed as innocent until proven guilty should be reversed. It should be ‘you are guilty once mentioned until proven innocent’,” Chege proposed.
Also former Kiambu governor William Kabogo had urged president Uhuru Kenyatta to arrest and fire all the public servants mentioned on graft.
Kabogo said that some politicians are just stealing public money to benefit themselves and accumulating wealth in preparations for 2022 presidency.
“I’m calling on president Uhuru Kenyatta to fire all those who are adversely mentioned on corruption scandals,they are tainting the reputation and the legacy,”Kabogo had said.
Deputy president William Ruto has been accused of defending his political allies whom are accused of stealing public money.
Recently,the deputy president said that the war on corruption shouldn’t be targeted to individuals.
“I’m targeted on the fight against corruption,let it not be personal,”he said.
