Conjestina Achieng who has been ailing made an appearance At The highly anticipated Nairobi Fight Night hosted on Saturday evening, March 23, at the (KICC), featuring Kenya’s boxing star, Fatuma Zarika and her opponent, Catherine Phiri.
Zarika, who is the reigning WBC super bantamweight champion floored the Zambian to reclaim the title.
Moments after the match, pioneering Kenyan boxing queen, Conjestina Achieng, who was part of the audience could be seen making her way to the ring.
Achieng’s appearance elicited raving ovation and cheering as she applauded the audience. The former boxing champion has been ailing for months after she was diagnosed with a psychiatric condition. Nairobi governor, Mike Sonko, came to the 41-year-old’s rescue, airlifting her to Nairobi for treatment.
