Relationships’ drama in Kenya continued as man was on Tuesday arraigned in a Kakamega court over allegations of brutally killing his girlfriend.
The Kakamega Resident Magistrate’s court heard that Obed Ihaji allegedly killed his girlfriend Caroline Alota at their home in Bukhanaga Village in Kakamega South between March 2 and 3, 2018.
He then reportedly skinned her head and slit her throat before allegedly disposing her body at a goldmine pit, reports the Standard.
The body was recovered by miners on March 4 at a mine situated on the suspect’s family land, which caused residents who had seen him with the deceased the previous day to suspect him.
The irate residents acted by arresting him and handing him over to the police.
An autopsy conducted on the body of the deceased by Kakamega Chief Pathologist Dickson Mchana revealed that her ears had been removed and her tongue chopped off.
The pathologist added that the deceased bleed to death due to the many cuttings and removal of body parts.
The magistrate directed the suspect be held at the Kakamega Main Prison until March 26 when he will be arraigned before a High Court judge to take plea.
