Wayne Rooney is furious at Everton’s attempts to force him out of Goodison Park.
Rooney has agreed in principle a three-year deal join DC United after being left with little alternative but to leave.
The former England skipper returned last season with the idea of seeing out his career at his boyhood club but is set to depart for the States after being told he is not in Marco Silva’s plans. Rooney was the Blues’ top scorer last season, despite being used in a holding midfield role for much of the campaign.
Rooney still wants a stay at the club he has always supported, but he knows if he turns down the move to the MLS, he will be given little game time at Goodison.
