Cherangany Member of Parliament Joshua Kuttuny seems to have taken his feud with Deputy President William Ruto and his allies a notch higher. The latter was on Sunday among a group of Jubilee leaders allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta who fired shots at Ruto and team over their latest attacks on the head of state.
Speaking at a church in Nairobi on Sunday, the team also warned Ruto against using his troops to undermine the president, with Kuttuny taking the chance to advise the DP. He said that Ruto’s presidential ambitions for the approaching 2022 general elections might not be realized should he not change tact and desist from attempting to intimidate his way up.
“You (DP) will never get to power using threats, intimidation and blackmail,” he was quoted. Kuttuny was responding to the pressure that has been emerging from Ruto’s quarters demanding that Uhuru confirms his stand on supporting the DP. Despite hailing from Rift Valley, he has been holding having different opinions and has severally engaged the DP and his allies in verbal exchanges.
Other leaders present included nominated MP Maina Kamanda who has been leading the onslaught against the DP and Nyeri township lawmaker Ngunjiri Wambugu. Also present were Mercy Gakuya (Kasarani), Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba and Paul Koinange (Kiambaa). Opposition parliamentarians were also present, including Anthony Oluoch (Mathare), Simba Arati (Dagoretti North) and Robert Mbui (Kathiani).
