The government has deployed Kenya Air Force personnel at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to assist in operations after aviation workers went on strike this morning.
Experts say the air force personnel will assist with ground flight operations that requires trained workers.
The ongoing strike at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) may have exposed the underbelly of the Government.
The use of teargas at the airport has drawn sharp criticism with a section of Kenyans calling out security agencies.
Police and General Service Unit (GSU) officers engaged the striking workers in running battles lobbing teargas canisters at the crowd.
Earlier, the government had deployed officers from the National Youth Service (NYS) after several flights to and from the airport were affected.
The striking staff, who downed their tools in the early hours of Wednesday, are unhappy with the board of management, unfair staff hiring and compensation and proposed takeover of the airport by Kenya Airways.
The arrangement will see KQ operate JKIA.
