Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho called for the strengthening of devolution further in order to foster equity in development and prosperity across the country.
His remarks comes after the official opening of the 6th Devolution Conference in Kirinyaga County yesterday.
In marking the 6th Devolution Conference in Kirinyaga County, Governors took stock of the achievements and challenges facing devolved units.
Most importantly they held discussions about enhanced service delivery in all sectors at the grassroots .
The 5 day meeting will also fuel an important milestone in Devolution and provide the stakeholders with an opportunity to review the performance of County Governments.
The theme of this year’s Conference is “Deliver. Transform. Measure” with a clarion call of “Remaining Accountable”.
The Conference is anchored on the Big Four Agenda that include Trade, Agriculture, Health, Affordable Housing and infrastructure sectors.
Other Governors who have lauded the system of devolution is Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi who believes that devolution has been the vehicle for transformation and prosperity in the various counties.
