The County Government of Mombasa is currently taking up road projects aimed at boosting the county’s infrastructure as well as the general economy of the county.
A couple days ago, the Deputy governor William Kingi held a meeting with
the Kenya Roads Board and demanded for an increase in the allocations given to them for road maintenance.
The County highlighted that the Board has been a very vital partner of the county government in matters roads maintenance and rehabilitation.
In the last one year, Mombasa has worked with the board toward developing 100km of roads and 38km of walkways.
Mombasa County Governor Hassan Joho today inspected one of the ongoing road projects which is the development of the Access road to Mtopanga estate.
The road which is 1.3km connects the Old Malindi road to Anwaral Vikwatani road.
The road is being upgraded to Cabro paving block standard with drainage system alongside it.
The completion of these projects will go a long way in face lifting the city as well as promote economic growth.
