A 51-year old preacher has brought a crowd outside Kilimani Law court to standstill after claiming that her church members left her church since she is a lesbian .
LGBT rights activists had flocked the Milimani law courts on Friday to hear the ruling on whether gay sex will be decriminalised. They were, however, disappointed after the ruling was postponed to May.
Jacinta Nzilani said she became a lesbian after her husband died. She says she was ‘forced’ to do this after mistreatment from her in-laws.
She continued:
” I am a widow. I lived with my husband for more than 25 years and then he died. I was treated badly by my in-laws and because of the experience, i decided to live with other women. And i am a lesbian.’
‘I feel comfortable and good with other lesbians.’
Her church, which was located in the CBD, no longer operates and says this forced her to join lesbians in their church.
‘I lost my church due to several challenges. People left me and some were forcing me to marry and it was not in me anymore.’
