Death came calling on the Kenyan roads once more when a bus heading from Bungoma for Nairobi collided head on with a lorry at Kamara on the Nakuru – Eldoret highway on Sunday night killing 7 people on the spot while 3 others died on the way to the hospital while scores others injured and admitted to hospital.
Seven people, among them the driver of the trailer, died on the spot while three others succumbed to injuries during treatment.

Confirming the incident, area chief Joseph Korir said over 70 more people – including two students headed home for the half-term break – were injured and are currently receiving treatment at Eldama Ravine Hospital and Moi Referral Hospital in Eldoret.

According to Mr. Korir, the 1a.m accident occurred when the bus, christened ‘Greenline,’ attempted to overtake another vehicle at a sharp bend.
