According to reports in Italy this afternoon, Premier League outfit West Ham United are closing on a deal for Lazio winger Felipe Anderson.
Anderson, a 25-year-old once-capped Brazilian international, has been on the books of Lazio since 2013, when he made the move to the Stadio Olimpico from Santos for a fee of around 8 million Euro.
After struggling for game-time during his debut campaign in the Italian capital, Anderson burst onto the scene during his second season with Lazio, racking up 10 goals and 7 assists in Serie A, and showcasing exactly why he had previously been so highly-regarded in Brazil.
However, although he has since gone on to continue to prove his undoubted talents in the years since, Anderson has failed to develop into the potential world-beater that he had been touted as during the early years of his career, with blistering, trick-filled performances up and down the flanks for Lazio too often followed by absolutely anonymous showings on the part of the South American.
