The former “Washenzi boss” Ngunjiri lashes fresh attacks at Uhuru

Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri who started Washenzi Movement after President Uhuru’s words has launched fresh attacks to the head of state. This time round in the the fight against corruption and appointments.

In an interview on Radio Maisha’s ‘Bunge La Maisha’ Tuesday morning, the vocal legislator said that Uhuru and team are doing very less to eradicate corruption.

He claimed that the government has failed to pick the right people for the job, alleging that some of the people in the forefront are incompetent and unfit for the role.

“Its true that this government isn’t doing enough to finish corruption. It appears that some of the people deployed to do the job are unable to deliver,” he said.

He based his argument on his role as a member of the Parliamentary Lands Committee.

Ngunjiri claimed some government officials have appeared before them without any idea of the happenings around them, though their departments have been listed among those involved in graft.

“Some of these top state officials are involved in graft, I sit in the Land Committee and I know that,” he said.

Ngunjiri has not been in good terms with Uhuru lately, following their bitter exchange earlier in the month after the lawmaker questioned Uhuru’s political moves.

He wondered why Uhuru seems to have made a U-turn on his deputy William Ruto whom he vowed to endorse as his successor once he retires in 2022.
