Chris Smalling could return after seven weeks on the sidelines when Manchester United host Burnley in the Premier League on Tuesday.
The defender has not featured since December 8 due to a foot issue, but interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is considering him after training over the past week.
Marcos Rojo and Marouane Fellaini remain sidelined for Tuesday’s match, while David De Gea will return in goal after being rested for the FA Cup win at Arsenal.
Solskjaer revealed he is not expecting any United exits before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Thursday brings the end of the transfer window and speculation over many players, with Antonio Valencia and Andreas Pereira among those linked with a move.
Matteo Darmian has been the subject of the most intense speculation as talk of a return to Italy continues, but caretaker manager Solskjaer does not expect any major departures.
“At the moment I can see everyone staying at the club because no deals have been done with anyone, I think,” he said.
