Nairobi is set for a upgrade with the multi million Fire Station project that is already taking it’s course.
A while back, there were complaints that the fire stations are less and therefore it serves as a challenge in cases where fire incidents erupt.
Earlier today, Governor Mike Sonko shared photos of the fire station construction site that is underway in Dagorreti South.
This is after the Nairobi City County Disaster Management unit led by Chief Officer Ann Mwenda visited the ongoing construction at Waithaka ward in Dagoretti South.
There had been complaints from Kenyans in relation to the response of the fire brigades who inmost cases delay and Sonko highlights this as one of the reason for this project.
The station will have fully equipped fire engines, ambulances, boreholes and other facilities that will enable the Nairobi City County Government respond to disasters in a timely manner in the nearby 5 wards i.e Mutuini ward, Ngando ward, Riruta ward, Uthiru ward and Waithaka ward where the fire station is located.
With this move, there is hope that the issue of delays will be reduced and more Kenyans will be able to access the services.
