Deputy President William Ruto has today revealed that he ordered for the investigations over the brutal murder of former Kilifi deputy governor Kenneth Kamto.
The Deputy President said that when he heard the news from his friend Gideon Mung’aro, he called Kamto’s wife for an explanation.
After getting the full briefing, he immediately called Inspector-General of Police Joseph Boinnet and told him to send a special team to investigate this heinous crime.
He also assured the family that the killers of will not go scot-free. “His death will be investigated to the end.” he said
Mr Ruto’s assurance comes amid calls by leaders for a proper probe into the brutal murder.
Political leaders from different regions today gathered during the funeral of former Kilifi deputy governor Kenneth Kamto, Rabai, Kilifi County.
Some of the leaders who were in attendance include the Deputy President William Ruto, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Kilifi Governor Amason among others.
Deputy President William Ruto eulogized Kamto as a strong-willed, pragmatic leader, who put the service of his constituents first.
“He advocated dialogue and a working relationship with all leaders across the political divide. Kamto’s astute leadership leaves an indelible mark in coastal and national politics.” he said
The former Kilifi deputy governor Kennedy Kamto was shot dead by unknown gunmen at his residence in Nyali, Mombasa.
Coast Regional Police Commander Noah Mwivanda confirmed the killing on 12th December, saying that the former deputy governor was accosted by three gunmen who shot and killed him as he entered his home.
