They are the Premier League Champons but it does not mean every player wants to play for the club. Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has no regrets over rejecting a move to Manchester City this summer.
Ndombele has emerged as one of the best young midfielders throughout Europe over the past couple of seasons.
The 21-year-old has firmly established himself in Lyon’s first team, while also earning four international caps with France.
He earned rave reviews after dominating City’s midfield in the Champions League earlier this season, with even Pep Guardiola eager to praise him.
Tanguy Ndombele on rumours of a move to Manchester City back in the summer: “I could have gone and maybe it would’ve gone well. However Lyon held a firm position they didn’t want me to leave. I didn’t feel like leaving too. Today, I think that was the best decision for me” pic.twitter.com/HL243KasL0

That should perhaps come as no surprise, as Ndombele has confirmed that City tried to sign him in the summer.
“I could have left but the club were resolute, they didn’t want me to leave,” he told Canal Football Club.
“I didn’t feel inclined to leave. Now I think it was the right decision for me.
“I play a lot of games and I’ve been called up to the national team.”
Asked whether a move to Paris Saint-Germain appealed to him, he replied: “I didn’t dream about playing for them when I was young.
“And it’s the same with Real Madrid, Barcelona, City and Bayern Munich. I never dreamed about playing for those clubs.
“They’re big clubs, I’m not closing the door on anyone. [PSG] remain one of the biggest clubs in France and I’m from the Parisian suburbs.”
