Who is killing our rhinos? Poaching may seem all that painless until you come across a video and you badly want to unsee it now.
Kenya, is one of the many African countries affected by the poaching crisis, saw a reduction in the number of rhino and elephant poached in 2017.
Kenya lost nine rhinos and 60 elephants to poachers in 2017, compared to 14 rhinos and 96 elephants lost in the previous year. Yet this does not beat the fact that there are still poachers out there.
In 2018 the disastrous translocation of 11 black rhinos that led to their subsequent deaths shocked many Kenyans and upto date I think no one ever got to the bottom of it.
In my opinion, poaching is an act that is so inhumane and should be brought to an end. The governments efforts are in place but more needs to be done even by the citizens and authorities at large.
It is so painful that the poachers live amongst us and this is just what they do for a living. Thirst for the dollars they say.
Makes it even worse that the helpless animal are subjected to such torture and pain.
I came across a frustrating video of a rhino who was seemingly fighting to survive. Angry Kenyans have raised concern for the need to campaign against poaching in Kenya. Have a look at video and the reactions.
