There was drama yesterday at the Kenyatta National hospital after a section of nurses protested the arrest of Nurses union leader Seth Panyako
Panyako was been arrested for allegedly inciting Kenyatta National Hospital into going on strike.
Panyako was arrested alongside other nurses who were also in the protest.
He was today charged with causing disturbance after arrest over KNH strike. He was later freed on Sh50,000 personal bond.
The nurses at the referral hospital that were protesting said the go-slow followed the “management’s infringement of their right to join a union.”
Several protesting nurses were also arrested alongside Panyako yesterday and were held in custody at the KNH police post with some resisting police arrest.
A Video from the scene of arrest has elicited various reactions online with many netizens bashing the police in the operation for what they termed as “Sexual assault” on one of the nurses.
In the video, the police can be seen forcefully trying to bundle the said nurse in a waiting vehicle but the nurse resists terming it an infringement on her rights.
The police man-handle her and the woman starts to scream hence making the police to finally let her go.

There is no dignity in what these men were doing. I thought the police and the guards are trained??? Kudos to that lady, Kenyans need to get that angry.

I don’t see arrest here, I see sexual harassment, very uncouth behavior!

This is public prosecution or have they become DPP @ODPP_KE, can’t someone just be told we are arresting you for this and this instead of first being stripped naked… have some dignity for Christ’s sake

Having watched the video above, do you think the police were justified to handle the nurse in the manner they did?
