In a tweet by Miguna Miguna, he strongly opposed bhang legalization by saying “REJECT Bangi smokers” . Clearly Former NACADA Chairman John Mututho is not alone in opposing the Marijuana bill. Mututho had earlier urged president Uhuru Kenyatta to reject any bill seeking to legalize the use of cannabis sativa should it land in his office.
Mututho had earlier been quoted after he said “These are dangerous substances. I get surprised when an honourable member of Parliament comes and starts to gain popularity by advocating for an illegality to make it legal, just as they did with portable spirits standards. Let’s have logic. Why do we have to legalise something that affects the functionality of the brain?” said Mututho.
Miguna statement comes a week later after Mututho’s message to President Kenyatta.
“Bangi, Ganja, Weed or Marijuana has not been legalised in Kenya but @UKenyatta smokes tons of it daily – ILLEGALLY. That’s how he ended up BRIBING @RailaOdinga with Kshs 50 billion of our money. @RailaOdinga whose supporters he had murdered in their hundreds. REJECT Bangi smokers” reads Miguna’s tweet
Kenyans on twitter went ahead and gave their reactions…
General, I beg to differ. Bhang is a natural drug, God has His reasons for it being here. Many great people admit to using it at least once. Please don’t blame it on the drug, blame it on the user. ➕ Faida za bhangi sio kwa wavutaji pekee??Tujielimishe https://t.co/yyLTYDwOGG
