Harambee Stars put off Malawi flames 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Francis Kahata in an international friendly staged at MISC Kasarani on Tuesday 11th September.
Zesco United forward Jesse Were was a late inclusion to the starting line up after Michael Olunga picked up an injury in the warm-up. The game was off to a slow start with neither of the two teams showing much intent to grab the tie by the scruff of the neck.
With the game seemingly headed for a barren draw, Aboud Omar freed Eric Ouma on the flanks who brought in an inch-perfect cross that the Malawi backline failed to deal with as it fell onto Gor Mahia midfielder Francis Kahata to tap home the ball in the 79th minute.
The win followed an unexpected 1-0 win over Ghana in the AFCON qualifiers and Kenyans were clearly more confident with the team after the positive showings and results.
After harambee stars beating Ghana and Malawi I think we are ready to face Franceππͺπ

Not everyone seems happy though..
I love how Kenyans have been easily fooled into the myth that Harambee Stars has finally turned their fortunes around after a lucky victory through a fluke goal against Ghana and a 1-0 victory in a friendly against Malawi officiated by Kenyan referees. π
