Amid the ongoing rise of insecurity cases in parts of the North rift, the government has reiterated its commitment to restoring safety in the areas by dealing with the culprits fueling banditry in the region.
In a recent move, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki declared a dusk-to-dawn curfew in 5 counties [Turkana, Elgeyo Marakwet, Baringo, West Pokot, Samburu, and Laikipia] which have been identified as high-risk areas. The month-long curfew will allow deployed officers to execute an operation to flush out the criminals after calls to have them surrender went futile.
