Kuria Drags Uhuru and Sabina Into Msando’s Saga; DP Ruto Beats Raila in New Polls 7 Days to Elections & Magoha Speaks on KNEC Exams Incase Of A Runoff

Good morning,

With exactly a week to the highly anticipated polls, the political rhetoric across the country is getting louder with each passing day.

Over the weekend, former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko pulled a surprise move after he ditched Azimio la Umoja coalition to join Deputy President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza alliance.

This comes two days after he threatened to quit Kalonzo Musyoka’s wiper party as he demanded that Wiper fronts his running mate, Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat after he was disqualified from the race over integrity issues.

A few weeks ago, Sonko had met President Uhuru Kenyatta and joined him in a series of rallies around Nairobi where he rallied Nairobi residents to support Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua.

During a rally in Kitui on Saturday, DP Ruto once again tried to court Kalonzo stating that he regretted the former VP’s treatment in Azimio and added that he will save him if he wins the presidency on August 9.

In a rejoinder, however, the Wiper leader dismissed Ruto’s remarks that he (Kalonzo) had been lied to by Raila and hit out at the DP telling him he is not interested in his job offer.

Do you think Kalonzo could pull the mother of all surprises and dump Azimio for Ruto before the elections?
