Since the emergence of Professor George Luchiri Wajackoyah in the 2022 presidential contest scene, opinions have been diverse on how much impact he has on the race.
A number of political analysts now believe that Wajackoyah is likely to eat into the numbers of Azimio leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto and could deny them a first-round win in the State House race.
According to research analyst Tom Wolf, the possibility of a run-off in the August 9 race should not be ignored partly because of Wajackoyah’s recent popularity due to his unique proposals should he be elected president.
Wolff noted that the controversial professor had been catapulted by his unconventional manifesto including promoting the medicinal use of Marijuana as well as snake farming.
In a recent survey by TIFA, Wajackoyah has 7% support in Nairobi, behind Raila who leads with 50%, and Ruto who has 25% of the capital city’s support.
Do you think Wajackoyah’s popularity is enough to dash Raila or Ruto’s hopes of a first-round win?
