Former CJ Mutunga Alleges What Uhuru Realized Ruto Would Do To Him If He Became President;Kuria On KKA Standoff: I Am Certain Rigathi Gachagua Is Under Instructions & William Ruto, Raila Odinga engage in Twitter spat over Jacaranda chaos

Good Morning. I hope you had a restful weekend and are ready to usher in a new week.

Kenyans this weekend marked Fathers day by sharing appreciation messages, images capturing their best moments, and how they treated their father figures on this special day.

Far from the celebrations, on matters of politics, when reports emerged online that both the UDA party and Azimio party had booked the Jacaranda grounds for a rally on Sunday, a section of Kenyans expressed their concerns over how the matter would be handled peacefully.

Some feared that chaos would erupt and true to their speculations, although the Raila allied party issued a statement to inform their supporters that their rally was canceled, the UDA brigade had a rough time after they made an appearance at the venue to meet their supporters.

In an unfortunate incident, UDA party leader Ruto and his allies were forced to seek cover in their vehicles after a rowdy crowd attacked their entourage with stones.

Following the intervention of police and anti-riot officers, order was restored paving way for the UDA leaders to address their supporters.

While speaking during the rally, Ruto accused their rivals the Azimio party of having orchestrated the attack and issued them with a warning.

“I want to tell our friends in the Azimio coalition that they have only 50 days to continue using youths to cause violence. After the 50 days have elapsed, the youths will no longer be available to disrupt political rallies,” he added.
In response to Ruto’s accusation, Raila Odinga slammed him for blaming others for his woes and suggested that he should begin to pack his bags since his time was up.

This online exchange between the two rivals continues to build up tension ahead of the August elections and has sparked a huge conversation online.

What are your expectations ahead of the elections and what do you think Kenyan citizens need to do to ensure a peaceful election?

Meanwhile, here are stories making headlines on Opera News today;
