As we approach the April 28 deadline set by IEBC for presidential candidates to unveil their running mates, the apparent biggest challenge for the Azimio-OKA team is who to pick between Wiper supremo Kalonzo Musyoka and Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua.
Over the weekend, leaders affiliated with Kalonzo called on the jumbo coalition to consider selecting him as the running mate citing numbers he commands, especially, in the Lower Eastern region.
Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua, a key ally of the former Vice President, decried the move to have their party leader as a mere member of the coalition saying the political outfit is feeling shortchanged.
On the other hand, Karua received a huge boost in her quest to deputize Raila Odinga after a section of female leaders in the Azimio movement agreed on the push to have her named as the running mate.
Already, a team of experts has been formed with the sole mandate of conducting scientific opinion polls to give guidance on who will steer the government hand in hand with Raila.
Both Raila and Deputy President William Ruto’s camps are also keen on using the running mate slot to woo Mt Kenya voters.
Whom do you think is the right choice for Odinga’s running mate role?
