“No Politician Will Be Arrested For Hate Speech” PS Kibicho’s Remarks Irks Kenyans; Wetangula Gives Proof Uhuru is Lying About Impeachment & Angry Kenyans Demand Arrest Of Man Driving Vehicle With Legs

The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results were released yesterday and candidates defied covid-19 to post improvement.

However, the male candidates performed slightly better in Kenyan sign language, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies and Religious Education compared to their female candidates.

The CS also noted that there was an improvement in performance in six KCPE papers compared to last year. English Composition, Kiswahili Lugha, Kiswahili Insha, Kenyan Sign language, Science and Social studies were the papers that posted improvements the CS noted.

Interestingly though, the majority of the students who topped the national exams have defied the societal norms in terms of the careers they want to pursue.

For the longest time or rather the old generation, all or a high majority of people wanted to become doctors, lawyers, pilots or engineers.

However, out of three top 10 students who were hosted on Citizen TV none of them wanted to become a doctor, lawyer or pilot.

Bruce Magata who emerged as the best candidate nationally with 428 marks out of a possible 500 said he wanted to pursue a career in robotics while one of the best female candidates said she wanted to follow her mother’s footsteps and pursue a career in architecture.

What do you think of this break in societal norms in terms of the careers the candidates want to pursue? Are they making wise decisions or is a change needed now and then?
