Kalonzo, Gideon to Sign Raila Deal in Uhuru’s Presence; Uhuru’s Secret Agendas Leak Ahead Of Sagana III Meeting & Dilemma as Insider Reveals Trouble in Azimio

Good morning,

As we fast approach the August 9 polls, politicians across the political divide are, in their usual fashion, expected to align themselves with alliances that best cater to their interests.

And in these looming alliances, the reunion of ODM chief Raila Odinga and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka seems to be the most likely to happen soon with reports indicating a deal between the two could be sealed any time this week.

The two leaders met behind closed doors on Sunday morning over breakfast and had discussions about their rallies in the Coast region where both factions had pitched camp, effectively dispelling suspicion of any bad blood between them.

Elsewhere, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi failed to deliver the much-hyped ‘Snow Melting’ event as he held a rather low-key National Delegates Convention at Bomas.

Muturi, who has been giving mixed signals of joining various political divides most notably the Kenya Kwanza alliance, has now decided to go solo in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Do you think the Raila-Kalonzo partnership is a done deal? And does Speaker have what it takes to be Kenya’s 5th president or will he join one of the two main alliances soon?

Meanwhile, here are the stories making headlines today:
