Ruto Demands Apology From Raila, Uhuru; Nakuru Doctor’s Cause of Death to be Revealed Today & Battle Lines Drawn Against DP Ruto as OKA leaders Plan to Work With Raila

Good morning,

Isn’t it scary how much information online tools are able to crawl about our individual interests and preferences?

We always see Western countries suing web, and social media companies, over privacy breaches, and perhaps, our country should also tighten the noose on data collection policies by such firms.

If you are keen enough, you will observe that if you search for a certain product, on popular search engines, for example, insurance covers, most of your web-based pages will keep showing advertisements and information on the same, long after you have conducted the search.

At first, it may seem resourceful, but with time it starts getting creepy.

Since we live at a time where the world is so deep into the information age, the Ministry of ICT should step up and initiate public education on online safety.

Persons who are not tech-savvy ignorantly accept cookies, and other complicated data requirements to access online platforms, and, some are easily baited by scammers using lucrative click baits.

Also, someone needs to educate Kenyans on the importance of fully reading the terms and conditions of using apps, even the verified ones, instead of just clicking “I agree” as we all do.

Here are the stories making headlines on Opera News today:
