Charles Owino Scores Big As ODM Reportedly Tells Orengo To Drop Gubernatorial Bid; Dramatic shoot out as notorious criminal gunned down & What nailed former CS Wario in Rio Olympics mess

Good morning,

Yesterday, the Catholic Church joined the Anglican Church of Kenya(ACK) in banning political speeches in places of worship.

Politicians are now staring at tough times ahead as the umbrella body of protestant churches, the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), also joined hands with the Catholic Church in making the unanimous decision.

This move has been welcomed by ODM leader Raila Odinga which begs the question were the churches in cohorts with some politicians to curtail the popularity of Deputy President William Ruto?

The DP has for a long time involved himself with the churches and their activities. He has contributed majorly to harambees to aid in the construction of the churches and in return get to sell his ideologies by addressing the large group of congregants usually pulled by the church.

Political pundits have termed this as an ingenious way of campaigning in preparation for the 2022 general elections.

This is because many Kenyans who are potential voters had already started identifying themselves with Ruto as compared to his main competitor in 2022 elections, Raila, who is perceived to be a ‘mganga.’

But even as the mainstream churches moved to impose the ban, DP Ruto’s handlers indicated that he will celebrate mass at the African Holy Spirit Church in Malava constituency this Sunday.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka also urged the church not to make political leaders look like the worst sinners saying there is no separation between politics and church.

Do you think the decision by the mainstream church to ban political speeches in places of worship is justified?
