Gikomba Market On Fire; Ruto Trashes President’s Legacy as Uhuru, Raila Hold Secret Talks & Ezekiel Mutua Breaks Silence On His Alleged Sacking By CS Mucheru

Good morning,

The week that we are winding up has recorded many talking points, from politics, the apparent arrival of the fourth coronavirus wave, to form one admission in high schools.

We also heard the story of a Kiambu couple that died in a murder-suicide at their luxurious home.

This has been said a million times before, but we feel we must insist: If a relationship does not seem to be working, there is no shame in calling it quits.

Philomena Njeri, who was the victim, in this case, had only returned to her home after months of separation from her husband, perhaps hoping to make a fresh start.

Although dead men tell no tales, we can conclude that the altercation that led to the two deaths was most likely over infidelity, if the reports on the issues that the couple was marred with are anything to go by.

We, as a society are to blame for these increased cases of murders among lovers.

This is because we have made a point of blindly teaching men dominance, and women submission.

The church that is so keen on preaching the above-listed themes should also take time to explain the difference between dominance and bullying, and, submission and foolish perseverance (mwanamke ni kuvumilia).

Meanwhile, here are the stories making headlines on Opera News today:
