Our President is in the UK for a diplomatic tour.
As usual, we expect him to return home with a bag full of goodies in terms of grants and loans.
It is important to note that Kenya seems to be held in very high esteem by Western nations in matters of creditworthiness.
Just a few months back, social media battalions attempted to badmouth our government to our favorite lender, the IMF, but their efforts bore no fruits, if anything, the organization awarded the government another loan!
For a country so lucrative to lenders, we ought to be very advanced in terms of development across all sectors, not just in infrastructure.
Remember that these trillions of money lent to us are also complemented by the depressing amounts of taxes that citizens pay to the government, which is a story for another day.
The bottom line here is, as we approach 2022, we need to be very sober-minded.
Let us not vote to punish a certain individual or to please another. Instead, we should unite our votes to make a complete overhaul of the system and see if our motherland can become a tolerable place to live in, once again.
