President Uhuru Kenyatta has extended the period for the nationwide curfew.
Uhuru during the Coronavirus update briefing declared that the curfew will extend for a period of 21 days.
The Head of State further noted that the cessation of movement within the specific counties has also been extended for another 21 days.

A composed Uhuru mentioned that more strict measures would soon be implemented after further consultations are made.
He expressed that this will mostly be concentrated on the counties that have been registering an increase in the Coronavirus cases.
“Counties like Kwale, Kilifi, Nairobi, Mombasa and Mandera have registered an increase in number of reported cases. More stringent measures will be taken in consultation with county governments to help contain the spread of Covid-19 – President Uhuru Kenyatta,” remarked President Uhuru.

The president also proclaimed that the country has confirmed seven new cases in the last 24 hours.
The latest development brings the total number of people with the disease to 343.
He further noted that three more people had successfully recovered from the virus raising the tally to 98.
