Koulibaly to Man United? Massive Boost as Napoli Intense Search For Replacement

Manchester United are reportedly most likely to sign Napoli defender whom they have admired for quite a long time now.

According to reports, the Italian club is keen to convince out of favour Barcelona star Samuel Umtiti to join them in a bid to replace Kalidou Koulibaly who could exit in the summer.

The Napoli hierarchy have reportedly contacted the LaLiga powerhouse to sound out a move for the centre back.

Umtiti has been at Camp Nou since the summer of 2016 after joining from Lyon, and his contract is set to expire in June 2023.

His stay with the Blaugrana has been in high doubts especially after he succumbed to knee injury, denying him enough time to showcase his usefulness for the Spanish giants.

Koulibaly, on his part, has established himself as a key figure for Napoli, worthy of admiration from top European clubs. He joined the Serie A side in 2014 from Genk, and has cemented the club’s defence department, raising his asking fee to over £90M.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been a big fan of the Senegal sensation, and has been keen to bring his services to Old Trafford to reinforce his defence.

The 28-year-old has reportedly already told Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis that he would be willing to leave this summer if the right offer came up.

Like Umtiti, Koulibably’s contract at his current club does not run out until June 2023.
