I Didn’t Bring Coronavirus to Togo, Adebayor Reacts to Meanness Allegations

Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor has angrily reacted to public accusations in Togo for not making a donation to help fight the Corona-virus pandemic in the country.

The virus that emanated from China has so far spread across the globe with nearly all African countries affected by the pandemic.

Influential people across the globe have chipped in to help in the fight against the virus. Sportsmen have not been left behind either. Samuel Eto’o donated foodstuffs and other essentials in Cameron while Didier Drogba allowed his yet to be completed hospital be used as an isolation center.

Back on Togo Adebayor has been on the receiving end of public bashing and the former Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham man has now reacted angrily asking those bashing him to stop as he did not bring the virus to Togo

“I always do things according to the wishes of my heart and not according to the words of others. I’m sorry that people compare me to Samuel Eto’o and Didier Drogba by asking me why I don’t have a foundation or why I don’t donate, as if I was the one who brought the coronavirus to Togo,” he said on Facebook Live.

“I am neither the one nor the other, I am me, Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor. A word of advice for the guys regarding donations, I will not do that. Everything is clear and very simple. Thank you and good day.”
