Bent Slams The Snake in Arsenal’s Dressing Room

Former Tottenham striker Darren Bent has slammed a ‘snake’ in Arsenal’s dressing rooms after news of Mesut Ozil rejecting a pay-cut during this corona-virus pandemic period was leaked to the public.

Earlier this week, the Gunners announced that all their players had agreed to take a 12.5% pay-cut owing to the ongoing corona-virus that has affected all sectors across the globe. Sports have equally been affected massively with all matches halted.

Reports later emerged that the German midfielder and two other players had declined to take a cut from his 350,000 pounds a week’s salary. The news elicited mixed reactions from fans on social media with most slamming him for being ‘selfish’.

Bent was however critical of how the information went public and he believes that there is a mole in the dressing home. He further questioned why only the world cup winner was targeted.

“There’s obviously a snake in that dressing room, which is not good. When you’re in a sporting environment with the guys in the dressing room, you’re like a small family, but at times people do cross the line.

“I’d be in there making phone calls trying to find out who it was that leaked the story because if there’s three of us [who rejected a pay cut], I shouldn’t be the only one being named,” said the now-retired former England international.
