Tottenham Hotpsur striker Harry Kane has hinted that he could leave Spurs if he feels the team is not improving. The English striker has been out of action since January with an injury an as a result his team has struggled without him in the side.
They were knocked out of the Champions League by RB Leipzig and out of the FA Cup in the fifth round. Kane who is a product of the Spurs academy admitted that he could seek greener pastures if things fail to improve in the next few years.
“I love Spurs, I’ll always love Spurs but I’ve always said if I don’t feel we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction, I’m not someone to stay there for the sake of it,” Kane said in an Instagram interview with former Spurs midfielder Jamie Rednapp.
The England captain also said that the league season should be nullified if the Corona Pandemic is not over by the end of June. Football is currently on hold in the world to avoid the spread of the virus which has so far killed thousands of people across the globe.
“I know the Premier League will do everything they can to finish the season and that they are looking at every option possible,” Kane said. “We do need to try to finish the season but there needs to be a point where enough’s enough. Playing into July or August and pushing next season back, I don’t see too much benefit in that.
“Probably the limit for me is the end of June. If the season’s not completed by then we need to look at the options and just look forward to next season.”
The Premier League is set to hold a meeting this Friday to decide on the fate of the football season.
