DP Ruto Attends Church Service Amid Coronavirus Scare, Delivers Special Message

Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday attended a church service even as leaders call for the suspension church gatherings across the country in order to contain the spread of coronavirus.

The Deputy President joined worshippers of the Friends Church (Quakers) for the Sunday Service, Lang’ata, Nairobi County. at Friends Church (Quakers) for the Sunday Service, Lang’ata, Nairobi County.

Ruto challenged Kenyans to remind each other of the scripture even as the country faces the challenge of Coronavirus.

“Even as we face the challenge of Coronavirus, let us remind each other of the scripture, 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, …”

On Friday, Ruto urged Kenyans to follow the directions given by the government so as to contain the spread of COVID-19.

“We appreciate that coronavirus is an international problem. We must play our respective parts as advised by the ministry of health.”

The virus which exploded in Wuhan City, China has claimed over 4,600 lives with 126,000 people infected globally.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over 67,000 have so far recovered from the virus.

China, which suffered the brunt of the outbreak has since managed the situation, with very minimal new cases reported of late.
