This comes just hours after police officers in Nairobi gunned down a suspected vandal along the Eastern bypass after a tip-off from members of the public.
Police reports indicate that the deceased was part of a criminal enterprise vandalizing guardrails along the road when they struck at 2 am on Sunday.
His accomplices are said to have escaped with gunshot wounds.
Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has warned Nairobi residents against vandalizing road furniture even as a section of Kenyans criticized police for shooting dead the suspect.
