When she made her debut into the singing arena, many critics said that Hamisa Mobetto should just stick to taking pictures because she had a bad voice.
Hamisa paid no mind to her detractors and continued to release chart-topping hits even as they screamed that she was vocally inept.
She recently addressed her critics in an interview with Ricky Media after receiving her ‘Mwanamke Shujaa’ award.
The mum of two disclosed that Tanzania has many singers who are not talented but she sets herself apart with the fact that she has the Midas touch, everything she does turns into a success.
“Tanzania ina wana mziki wengi sana ambao pia hawajui kuimba ama hawafanyi kazi nzuri sana katika mziki. Mimi nauza chochote ambacho nakiguza, naamini kabisa kwamba chochote nachoguza nitatoboa, hata nikitaka kuimba Singeli ama Taarabu, mimi nitatoboa tu. Mimi I only care about what I do, mwisho wa siku unasema nyimbo yangu mbaya lakini inafika milioni moja views kwa YouTube, nyimbo watoto wanaimba nikipita tu mtaani. So it’s good, mwisho wa siku sio lazima kila mtu akuelewe.Wakikuelewa watu baadhi inatosha,”she said.
Hamisa revealed that despite the critics, she is about to release her first album where she features some amazing stars.
“I’m currently working on my album. Album yangu inakuja hivi karibuni. Ina international collabs,” she intimated.
