Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Saturday, February 29, took a swipe at ODM leader Raila Odinga and other pro-BBI brigades over the process.
Murkomen castigated Raila and other leaders supporting the BBI for lying to Kenyans.
According to him, problems facing the common people will not be resolved by the document that was launched in November 2019.
He said that leaders should stop lying to Kenyans that BBI will change the well being of the nation adding the government should focus on delivering its manifesto.
“Viongozi walichaguliwa kusulihisha shida za Wakenya, tuache uongo ya kuambia raia ya kuwa tutashughulikia shida hizo kupitia (Leaders were elected to solve Kenyan’s problems, let us not cheat them that we will solve their problems through BBI),” Murkomen stated.
Amid cheers, the lawmaker who is a close ally of the DP, reminded those present that President Uhuru Kenyatta was not fraudulently voted in in the last general election.
The senate majority leader also tore into the ODM leader accusing him of calling President Uhuru Kenyatta a witch and a chick that was hatched from the computer.
“Kenyatta is a legitimate president and not a kifaranga cha computer (computer-generated president). Leaders should not lie to Kenyans, let us work to create a united Kenyan,” Murkonmen added.
Murkomen also noted that there was a need to respect DP Ruto in the BBI process saying he was elected together with President Uhuru Kenyatta and the two are a pair.

After addressing the crowd, Murkomen and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria exited the stadium before the rally had come to an end.
They were followed out by a group of people as EALA MP Mpuru Aburi condemned them for disrespecting the BBI.
It was not clear why they left, but they had earlier missed seats. Only Murkomen and Linturi were allowed to address the gathering after requests from the public.
Earlier, the two leaders once again missed seats after they arrived late.
