Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, Gatundu MP Moses Kuria and Meru Senator Mithika Linturi on Saturday missed seats at Mt Kenya BBI meeting held at Kinoru Stadium in Meru County.

Pictures making rounds on social media showed the three leaders standing behind a host of leaders who had already taken their seats.

According to ODM’s Director of Communication Philip Etale, the leaders missed out on the seats after they arrived late.

“I appeal to handlers of my friend Senator Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen and his team Hon. Moses Kuria included to always ensure they come early to grab a seat for his boss. We know they have other pressing engagements elsewhere that force them to arrive late for BBI rallies,” wrote Etale.

He added that: “leaders who believe in the course have arrived. Kenyans who believe in the course are seated. Opportunists want to come late to seek attention.”

This is not the first time that the leaders missed out on seats.

City Lawyer Donald Kipkorir on Saturday labelled the leaders as hypocrites for castigating the BBI course yet attending the rally at the same time.

“TangaTanga MPs & Supporters are all over twitter saying #BBINonsense but are on the way to #BBIMtKenyaEdition in Kinoru, Meru. Their hypocrisy should be stopped. They can’t be abusing BBI but want to address its rallies. You can’t have your cake & eat it. I trust Merus to end it,” he tweeted.
