Twist in Cohen Murder Case as Court of Appeal Judge is Admitted as a Third Suspect

Justice Sankale Ole Kantai, of the Appellate court, will be charged as a third person in the murder of billionaire Tob Cohen.

The judge was arrested on Friday, on accusations of being in contact with Sarah Wairimu Cohen, the widow of the former Philips boss, and the prime suspect in the gruesome murder of the businessman, whose body was found rotting in a septic tank within his compound in Kitisuru.

Police believe that the two had met to discuss the murder case.

Sankale spent Friday night behind bars before he was released on a police bond on Saturday.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had earlier indicated that the judge would be charged with witness interference and conspiracy to defeat justice.

Businessman Peter Karanja is also co-accused in the high profile murder, which is suspected to have been carried out between Jul. 19 and Jul. 20, before Cohen’s body was recovered two months later.
