Earlier on, the Director of Criminal Investigations had launched a manhunt for the security officer.

The officer on duty who was manning the Harambee Annex office on February 13, 2020, was set to be questioned by the DCI.

It is on that day that former Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa and two foreigners visited DP Ruto’s office to sign a multibillion fake arms tender documents.

Apart from the security officer, DCI officials early this week questioned other staff at Ruto’s office and also collected CCTV footage.

At the centre of the scandal is a female Member of parliament from Mt. Kenya region and two foreigners named Mustafa Lofty and Stanley Kozlowski.

The two foreigners are said to have visited Ruto’s office but did not find him there.

On missing the DP, the two sat in a waiting room and signed the KSh 39.5 billion tender.

Ruto has distanced himself from the matter, more so, a close relationship with main suspect Rashid Echesa.

Elgeyo senator Kipchumba Murkomen, who is known to be a close ally of the DP hinted that the whole thing was planned so as to set-up his boss.

He alleged that the two investors could have been a project of someone from the ministry of defence aimed at tarnishing the DP’s image.
