Ruto’s Key Ally Issues Fresh Demands for Supporting BBI

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has once again insisted that nobody will stop political leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto from opposing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) if its objective is to benefit some leaders in 2022.

Sudi, a close ally to DP Ruto, vowed to oppose the report if the document fails to give proposals on ways to improve the livelihoods of Kenyans.

“Na tumesema kama io BBI italeta uhusiano mzur, sisi tutaiunga, lakini so far tumeona iko na magawanyiko mengi kwa sababu ukienda kwa mkutano, hawataki huyu, hawataki yule, ule amesema, ule hajasema. Lakini sisi tutasimama hapo kwa sababu rais amesema tuunge.”

“Na ile kitu nataka kuambia viongozi wengine, sisi wote ni wakenya na tuko na haki kama wakenya wengine.”

The Kapseret MP, who was speaking at Siret village in Nandi County, echoed the remarks made by Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen on Saturday, January 15.

Murkomen in a tweet threatened that he is willing and ready to lead the anti-BBI campaign should the final document fail to capture the aspirations of Kenyans.

The Elgeyo Marakwet senator warned that anything limiting Kenyans will face stiff opposition from him and other like-minded Kenyans.

“If the final BBI report doesn’t capture the aspirations of the people of Kenya&a referendum to amend the constitution is organized with a draft that limits the sovereign power of the people or create tribal positions or undermine devolution,I will oppose&Will lead the NO Team.” Murkomen tweeted.
