University of Nairobi (UoN) don and political commentator Herman Manyora has revealed a secret plan to make Gideon Moi president in 2027.
According to Manyora, who was speaking during the K24 Punchline show hosted by Anne Kiguta, ODM leader Raila Odinga will be installed as president through a boardroom agreement in 2022 and serve for five years, as the Baringo senator ‘matures’ politically.
This, as Manyora asserts, will be a mirror image of what retired Head of State Mwai Kibaki did between 2002-2013 to allow President Uhuru Kenyatta to ‘grow’ and take over the reins of power.
“But I want to talk about Gideon Moi… I said this is succession part two. Just like Kibaki was needed to occupy that space temporarily and keep it for Uhuru, Raila is meant to occupy this space between 2022 and 2027 and keep it for Gideon,” the controversial political analyst said amid awe from Kiguta and other panelists, Joy Mdivo and Kakai Kissinger.
Manyora, who described himself as a friend to Deputy President William Ruto, went on to state that the country’s second in command will never get a chance to rule Kenya since he is not “in the line of succession”.
“In 2022, everything will be a boardroom deal where people will distribute positions and the game has already started,” he stated.
“Moi (Daniel) was to take over from Kenyatta (Jomo) and all these people you see are in the line of succession. Uhuru was introduced (in 2002) not to be president but to appear as presidential as he prepared to take over eventually. Kibaki was just a stop-gap president in the entire scheme…”
When asked about the perception that DP Ruto is being sidelined during Moi’s burial preparations, the panellist argued that all that (including the BBI debate) was part of the bigger scheme to stop him from ascending to the top seat.
“This is to send a really strong warning that you (Ruto) are not in any sort of consideration. They have been sending messages to Ruto since the Handshake and when one strategy fails, they come up with another. This message of exclusion from burial plans is just one of them,” Manyora noted.
