Sofapaka inflicted Gor Mahia with their first loss of the year folwing an impressive 3-1 victory on Saturday. Batoto Ba Mungu put in a fearless performance to beat the defending champions and table toppers for only the third time this season and keep the title race interesting.

The win should lift Sofapaka’s confidence as they had not won in their last three matches prior to the Gor Mahia meeting.

Wazito Get Statement Win

Before matchday 20 kicked off, Wazito had won just two matches all season. One was against a Chemelil side that had lost all hope while the other was a 2-0 victory away to Zoo Kericho.

However, the moneybags finally beat a worthy opponent over the weekend, seeing off Western Stima 2-1 in Narok. The performance and result proved that Wazito has finally turned a corner.

Bottom of the table and one walkover away from automatic relegation, Chemelil Sugarlooked dead and buried midway through the season. However, the millers have been in sparkling form lately drawing twice against teams at the top half of the table in Sofapaka and Western Stima.

On Sunday, Chemelil got their second win of the season after beating Posta Rangers to climb out of the automatic relegation positions. The revival is well and truly on!

Mboya The Hero For Tusker

Timothy Otieno scored the only goal as Tusker FC beat AFC Leopards but funny enough the Brewers had another man to thank for the win. Goalkeeper Robert Mboya saved a penalty in the last minute of the first half which created a platform for Otieno to score the winner in the second half.

The win ensured that the title is still within reach for Robert Matano’s side who are six points behind leaders Gor Mahia.
