Players To Watch As AFC Leopards Host Tusker At The Afraha

This Sunday, the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru will host the clash of the weekend in the Kenya Premier League. Two heavyweights face each other as AFC Leopards host Tusker FC.

Both teams are in good form, Tusker is unbeaten in the last 12 matches while Leopards have won three in a row coming into this fixture. Below, we look at players who could make the difference in the match.

Elvis Rupia

The striker marked his debut with the winner against Ulinzi Stars last week for AFC Leopards. He returns to the same stage he announced his arrival to the Ingwe faithful and will obviously be looking to have the same impact.

Rupia is the perfect center forward, he makes runs that midfielders have an easy job of picking and holds up the ball nicely thus bringing others into the game. One for Tusker to keep a close eye on.

Hashim Sempala

The Ugandan midfielder is the heartbeat of Robert Matano’s side. He dictates the game from the center of the park and is so vital to how the team plays.

Sempala combines his technique with a workhorse mentality and on many occasions, it feels like Tusker has 12 players on the pitch. Leopards could end up on the losing side should they letSempala be in his element.

Austin Odhiambo

An attacking midfielder with the vision that cannot be taught nor coached into a player. Odhiambo sees openings in the opponents’ backline before anyone else on the pitch and in the stands too.

He has been key to very many attacking moves this season and will punish Tusker if they afford him space to thrive.

Timothy Otieno

Tusker Fcs prime source of goals and their top scorer this season. Otieno scored four in the month of January and started February with yet another goal against Ulinzi.

He is the current leader in the race for the Golden boot this season and will surely look to gain an advantage with another goal on Sunday.
